Android One is Google’s effort at launching relatively inexpensive smartphones, which still have the full support of Google itself, as far as software updates are concerned.

Android One has been offering those quick updates for those devices in international markets since 2014, and apparently the company has eyes to expand a bit more. According to a report published by The Information, Google will launch its first Android One smartphone in the United States before the middle part of 2017 rolls around, and it will retail for $200 or $300. As usual, Google will offer timely software upgrades for that device for up to two years after its initial launch.

As of now, it is unknown which company will manufacture the Android One handset.
