While Android Wear hardware is only just now beginning to ship en masse, development looks to be coming along swimmingly. New apps with Android Wear support are popping up quickly, but it's surprising to see that there's already a custom ROM for one of the new wearables.
If you're an owner of the LG G Watch, and you want to get your hack on, you now have something you can tinker with. The dev behind the ROM, JakeDay, is promising both better battery life and performance, which seems sort of magical. Yes, it does sound a little too good to be true, and we would suggest exercising caution before updating the firmware on your watch with unknown, 3rd-party software.
If you're still hesitant, then hold tight. Not only has the developer mentioned that he will be updating his post with a FAQ, but he also mentions that the ROM shouldn't kill off OTA updates and that he will include a way to revert back. You can also expect new builds of the ROM on the way.
Even if you're not ready to take the plunge just yet with your new G Watch, this is just one of the many mods and ROMs that will surely soon be available for Android Wear.
