It’s been almost a full year since the HTC One debuted. The hset was met with positive reviews, but it did little to help HTC regain the market share it lost to other device manufacturers.

Still, the Taiwan-based company continues to press on, if the rumors are true, we’ll see HTC’s new hset debut sometime later this month at Mobile rld Congress in Barcelona.

According to HTCSource other various rumors leaks, the HTC M8 will borrow much of its design aesthetic from its predecessor, the One. Its aluminum finish helped differentiate it from the other Android devices coated in polymer, in addition to its two-button configuration, which actually . However, HTC will likely do away with that as well as it not only reintroduced the Action button to its next device, but rids of the hardware buttons in favor of on-screen ones. It’s a bit of unfortunate news for diehard HTC fans who appreciated the extra bit of screen space. It could also change some of the configurations in Sense 6, assuming HTC launches a new version.

It’s all just speculation at this point, but it’ll be interesting to see what HTC comes up with this year. The One had a bit of a rocky start, by the time the device was available at all major carriers, rivals Samsung entered the ring with its flagship device. HTC doesn’t need to be number one, but it does need a hit on its hs if it’s going to remain relevant moving forward.
