Xiaomi will unveil its new MIUI 7 global software at an event in New Delhi, India, on August 19, the Chinese company has confirmed. Fans are being given the opportunity to attend the event, and you can register your interest in a ticket today.

Xiaomi will actually introduce its MIUI 7 update in China on August 13, but it will then launch a global version of the ROM “with tailored features for global fans” on August 19. Rumors claim the company will also use the event to unveil the new Redmi Note 2, a second version of its popular phablet.

Xiaomi is giving fans the chance to attend its event, and it says “there might even be a surprise” for those who do. You can apply for your free ticket now on the MIUI forum, and Xiaomi will select “hard-core MIUI fans” to attend.

You’ll need to tell Xiaomi why you want to be there for the MIUI 7 unveiling, and the more creative your post is, the better your chance of being selected, the company says. But be warned: almost 1,600 fans have already applied, so you’ll need a little luck as well.
