The DROID DNA from HTC was the company’s flagship handset on Verizon’s network for late 2012. However, the handset was quickly forgotten with the release of HTC One in early 2013.
Over the course of one year since its launch, the DNA has only received some bug fixing updates, even though two major Android updates have been released since then.
Today, HTC and Verizon are showing some love to the forgotten DNA owners by rolling out the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for the handset. Along with a new version of Jelly Bean, the update also brings Sense 5, which includes BlinkFeed, an updated Camera app, Quick Settings and other UI enhancements.

The delay in the update being rolled out should squarely land on Verizon’s shoulder since HTC updated the Asian version of the DNA — the Butterfly J — to Android 4.2.2 quite a few months ago.
Another good news for DNA owners is that HTC has confirmed that it will be bringing the Android 4.4 KitKat update to DNA owners as well. The update is expected to land in April next year, and will also bring Sense 5.5 with it.
