Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact

Sony has officially unveiled their newest tablet in the form of the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact at this year’s IFA in Berlin, Germany.

The new tablet was officially introduced alongside their brand new smartphones, including the Xperia Z3 and the Xperia Z3 Comapct. With this new tablet, Sony has introduced a new 8-inch tablet to the market, albeit with Sony’s distinct styling. The new tablet features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor under the hood, clocked at 2.5GHz. There’s 3GB of RAM on board, and you’ll find 16GB of built-in storage. There’s an 8.1-megapixel camera on the back, with a 2.2MP front-facing shooter on the other side. The tablet is IP65/68 dust and water resistant.

The battery is measured in at 4500mAh, and it should be running Android 4.4 KitKat right out of the box. As far as a release date goes, Sony says it will be launching the new tablet sometime in September, but not exact date was provided. And, as usual, the pricing details were nonexistent.

As soon as we learn more about the tablet, we’ll fill you in, as Sony’s IFA event is still taking place.
