Sony’s 10 inch Xperia Tablet Z, which is sitting on my desk as I write this, is in the process of getting updated to Android 4.2.2 according to Xperia Blog. Why haven’t I written about my experiences with the Tablet Z yet? The unit I was sent is a bit broken, unfortunately, so as soon as I resolve that issue I’ll definitely get back to you.

Enough about malfunctioning review units, what’s in Sony’s update? You’re not going to believe this, but the company decided to move everything around. The status bar, with the clock and notifications, is now on the top of the device versus the bottom. And the on-screen buttons, required to navigate around the user interface, have been moved from the left corner to dead center.

Other than that, it doesn’t look like a lot has changed, but it’s early days. My Tablet Z hasn’t received the update, so this is obviously a staged roll-out that may take some time to hit your country.
