Samsung Galaxy S7

Samsung has just announced the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, its flagship handsets for the first half of 2016 and the successor to the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. Compared to its previous device launches, Samsung is going to do a more aggressive roll out of the handsets that will see them being available in key markets of the world in less than a month from now.

Availability & Pre-order

The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 edge will be available across all carriers in the United States by March 11. In most of the other key markets, Samsung says that the handsets will be available by ‘mid-March.’ In the United States and some other markets, Samsung will start taking pre-orders for the handsets from February 23. In the United Kingdom, the Galaxy S7 has been priced at £569, while the Galaxy S7 edge has been priced at £639. The handsets will only be available with 32GB internal storage and in Black and Gold color options.

As a bonus, pre-ordering the Galaxy S7 or S7 edge in the U.S or purchasing it within March 18 will ensure that you get a Gear VR free with the handset. Additionally, you will also get a 6-game VR bundle for free that usually costs $50.

Pricing

Samsung did not reveal any details about the pricing of the handsets. However, carriers in the United States have already gone ahead and announced the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will cost $199 and $29 on a two-year lease program. In other parts of the world, the prices of the handsets will likely start from around $670 and 780$ respectively. Do note that the Galaxy S7 edge is going to be priced at a $100-150 premium depending on your market.
