The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is still a few months away from launch at best, but rumors about Samsung’s upcoming flagship have already started doing the rounds of the Internet.

A report from the Korean media claims that the Galaxy Note 5 will ditch the microUSB 2.0 port in favor of a USB 3.1 Type-C port. Now, there is little denying that USB Type-C is going to become a commonplace in future smartphones, tablets and PCs, but for now, the technology is still in its nascent stages. The port offers a plethora of benefits including faster charging times and data transfer speeds, and most importantly, is reversible just like Apple’s lightning connector.

The report also claims that the Galaxy Note 5 will be 7.9mm thin, feature an Exynos 7422 chipset and a UFS 2.0 NAND chip and come with a gigantic 4100mAh battery. Previous reports have claimed that Samsung might equip the Note 5 with a 4K resolution Super AMOLED display, but many insiders claim that such displays from Samsung are still in testing stages and will take sometime before making their commercial debut.

Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note 5 at IFA this year. With the Galaxy S6 impressing everyone with its beautiful design and great performance, expectations from the Galaxy Note 5 are pretty sky high among tech enthusiasts.
