Word on the street is that Motorola, which is owned by Lenovo, is going to bring back the RAZR brand in a big way this year.

That handset will allegedly be a foldable smartphone, which will retail for around $1,500 when it arrives sometime this year. Motorola is reportedly going to showcase the device sometime in February, so we don’t have long before the company makes it officially official. And, for now, details on the upcoming device are still pretty light.

Even with a brand new patent filing that has given us, at the very least, what appears to be our first look at the upcoming folding design. Interestingly enough, if these images are accurate, then the new foldable RAZR is going to look quite a bit like the original model — including the very, very noticeable chin. We can see that there is a smaller display on the outside of the device, too, something that can be seen when the phone is flipped/folded closed.

Meanwhile, on the inside (pictured at the top of this article) there won’t be the old hardware buttons. Instead, it will be a single, foldable display. That does indeed match up with the rumor that we’d be seeing a foldable phone with the same RAZR design cue, so it will be interesting to see what this looks like in the real world when Lenovo finally reveals it.
