For a relatively new startup, OnePlus has managed to create quite a hype around their upcoming smartphone — the OnePlus One. The company has slowly and steadily revealed all the key specs of the handset which has attracted the attention of many potential consumers.

While the company had earlier announced that it would be using a Snapdragon 800 processor on the One, it decided to change replace it with a Snapdragon 801 because of community backlash. Today, it has further revealed some more information about the specs of the handset.

The Snapdragon 801 inside the OnePlus One will be the MSM8974AC variant, which means that it will be clocked at 2.5GHz. This is the same processor that is found inside the Galaxy S5 and is faster than the ones found on the Xperia Z2 and HTC One (M8). The Adreno 330 GPU GPU will also be clocked at a slightly higher frequency of 578MHz compared to 450MHz on the Snapdragon 800 chipset. Other benefits of this chipset include support for eMMC 5.0 and a faster Image Signalling Processor (ISP).

The company also revealed that the OnePlus One will be coming with 3GB of RAM so that potential users will never have to worry about the available free RAM.  It also confirmed that the changes in the chipset will not affect the unveiling of the phone, which is scheduled for April 23rd.
