The rumor mill had been working overtime recently to paint a pretty clear picture of Motorola’s upcoming flagship smartphone, and most of those details proved to be true.

Today, Motorola officially unveiled the Moto Z2 Force (Edition), which will go up for pre-order beginning today, and officially launches on August 10. As for what potential future owners can expect to find on the flagship smartphone, all the bases are covered: A 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display with ShatterShield technology, which means it won’t shatter or crack with just a simple drop. It also features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of built-in storage with a miroSD card slot for expandable storage. It’s running Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box, but Motorola is already promising a timely update to Android O when that launched later this year. The battery measures in at only 2730mAh (down from the 3500mAh battery in the original Moto Z Force). The Moto Z2 Force doesn’t feature a 3.5mm headphone jack, either.

Meanwhile, there are a pair of 12-megapixel cameras on the back of the handset. One of them is a color sensor, while the other is a monochrome sensor. The cameras are capable of taking bokeh photos, both feature f/2.0 aperture, and there’s laser autofocus and phase detection on board, too. Motorola doesn’t make mention of any optical image stabilization, however. On the front, there’s a 5MP shooter and a front-facing flash.

The Moto Z2 force will be available in black, white/gold, and T-Mobile has a Slate Gray option as a carrier exclusive. The handset is priced at $710 MSRP, but some carriers (like AT&T) have priced it a bit higher. Which is the other main talking point for the new flagship: This is not a carrier exclusive. The handset will be available on all four major wireless carriers in early August, a change of pace for these handsets in a big way, which will hopefully mean good things for Motorola.

It’s worth noting that the Moto Z2 Force isn’t water-resistant like devices such as the Galaxy S8 or LG G6. Motorola does include the “water protection” from past Moto Z handsets, though, so it should survive a light mist, but it shouldn’t be submerged under water. Oh, and if you pre-order the Moto Z2 Force now, you’ll get a free pico projector Moto Mod for a limited time.

The Moto Z2 Force does support new Moto Mods, including a brand new 360-degree camera (that’s priced at $299), and a brand new Game Pad Moto Mod. The device also features support for first-generation Moto Mods as well, so if you have old ones laying around that you’d still want to use, that’s a possibility.

So, August 10 for the Moto Z2 Force. Who plans on picking one up?
