LG V10

LG today confirmed that it will indeed be launching the LG V20, successor to its surprise V10 hit from last year, in September this year. It will also be the first handset to launch with Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box.

The company did not reveal any other information about the handset, but it is likely that just like the original V10, the V20 will also focus on camera and multimedia experience. The original V10 had a secondary screen, which is unlikely to stay around on the V20. Instead, just like the LG G5, the handset should also feature an Always-On Display mode. The V10 also had many other unique features including a dual camera setup at the front, a powerful DAC that ensured it delivered the best audio quality ever heard from in a smartphone, and a great build quality.

Oh!, and don’t expect any of LG’s ‘Friends’ to be compatible with the V20. The failure of the G5 should ensure that the Korean company stays away from the concept of modular smartphones for the foreseeable future.

LG’s announcement also confirms that the final version of Android 7.0 Nougat will be released sometime before September, which matches up perfectly with what @evleaks said a couple of days ago.
