LG is going to announce a new flagship smartphone on August 7th at an event in New York City. That device will be called the LG G2. Nope, no Optimus. That brand is dead. We’ve seen numerous leaks of the device during the past few weeks, and today there’s a new one straight out of Korea that gives us some more detail about some of the “boring” aspects of the device.

Starting with the battery: It’s removable, it can hold 2,540 mAh, and it can charge wirelessly. Should you be worried about the size? Well, that depends. The Samsung Galaxy S4 has a 5 inch screen and a 2,600 mAh battery. The G2 will have a 5.2 inch screen, so it’s larger, yet the battery is a tiny bit smaller. It could make for a mess, it could be fine. We’re not going to know until it’s tested.

Other than that, there’s word that the device has 2GB of RAM, not 3GB as previously reported. That’s a bit disappointing for those of us who like to multi-task a lot, but life goes on.
