Layout for Instagram

Instagram has become a go-to source for sharing photos, and now the developer wants you to build collages, too.

Putting together a collage of pictures used to take some time. You had to find the photos, first off, which meant sifting through a bunch of physical pictures, and then finding the paper to put them on, glue, all that. So, Instagram is here to save the day — eventually. Instagram, on its official blog, unveiled “Layout,” a new app that’s meant to help sift through your digital photography and help you build collages faster and easier than ever before.

It will go through the photos that are available on your phone, and then put them together in a nice box. Once they’re in there, you’ll be able to rotate, resize, and otherwise edit to make perfect for what you’re looking for in your collage. Layout also has a “Photo Booth” feature, which will take a series of photos quickly and instantly upload them into a collage for you to share.

Features like “Faces” will build a collage with people as the focus.

Layout is coming out to Android “in the coming months,” so keep an eye out for it. What do you think of Instagram’s new app?
