Huawei IFA 2014 teaser

With IFA 2014 right around the corner, companies are starting to work a bit harder to get people’s attention. We’ve already seen ASUS tease their own IFA plans that will potentially see the launch of a smartwatch. While ASUS’s teaser was pretty straightforward, Huawei’s effort is a bit more off-the-wall.

As noted by Android Central Huawei’s IFA 2014 teaser is a little strange, but offers a few key pieces of information that can be discerned into some kind of connection to a smartphone. The first tease is pretty clear: fingerprint scanner for added security, as made apparent by a safe with a fingerprint there at the bottom-right of the image. Then, what looks to be the transmission shifter, which would suggest that the next device will feature some kind of automotive integration. Android Auto would be the clear choice.

And that’s when things get different. The next tease is what looks like a screen, which could be that of a smartphone with thin bezels, but it could also depict some kind of larger box? The lingering theory, though, is that it’s a smartphone with thin bezels.

The last tease is a bunch of cats. Yeah, cats. There’s no telling what that could possibly mean, or if it will make any sense at all when Huawei announces whatever this device is. There’s also the possibility, however faint, that it could be Huawei teasing multiple devices. And then cats.

What do you think the deal is?
