Huawei has just taken the wraps off the Ascend P7 smartphone, which is a successor to last year’s Ascend P6. For those unaware, the Ascend series is usually seen packing the company’s flagship hardware with the latest version of its proprietary Emotion UI running on top of the latest version of Android.

The Ascend P7 doesn’t come with any surprises as far as the hardware is concerned and we’re seeing a 5 inch 1080p display on board accompanied by a 13-megapixel camera on the back and a mammoth 8-megapixel front-facing shooter. The handset comes with 16GB of storage out of the box which can be expanded with the help of a microSD card slot and there’s 2GB of RAM as well. Powering the unit is Huawei’s home-baked Kirin 910T quad core chipset with a clock speed of 1.8 GHz which is run by a 2,500 mAh battery.

On the software side of things, the Ascend P7 is running Android 4.4.2 out of the box with the latest iteration of the Emotion UI. Huawei claims that this is one of the thinnest LTE smartphones going around at just 6.5mm. Pricing has been set at €449 ($625) with availability slated to begin this month in regions of Asia, Europe and the Middle East initially.
