A month after it was first released on the Google Play Store as a closed beta, HTC’s Sense Home Launcher is now in open beta i.e. it is available for download for all non-HTC devices running Android 4.4 or higher.

The launcher features BlinkFeed that lets one go through their social media feeds and other important news quickly through the left-most home screen. It can even send recommendations for nearby restaurants, cafés, bars, and other interesting events that are happening around you. As for customizations, the launcher features a built-in theme engine that can be used to completely change its look and feel.

It does lack the option to use custom icon packs and other advanced features that are found in Nova or Action launcher. Another bummer with the launcher is that sometimes HTC uses BlinkFeed to serve ads, which some can find a bit intrusive.

As mentioned above, HTC’s Sense Home launcher will work on almost all non-HTC devices including the likes of Samsung Galaxy S7, S6, Note 5, LG G5, Nexus 6P, Nexus 6, and more.
