After rescheduling and ultimately canceling the launch of its first wearable, the Grip, HTC and Under Armour have now finally announced their second wearable for consumers: the UA Band.

That’s not all though: both companies today announced a “fitness system” called UA HealthBox and it includes products like UA Heart Rate, UA Scale and the UA Band.

“This system contains everything a consumer needs to better manage their health and fitness,” said Wolfgang Muller, Executive Director – Connected Products, HTC. “Whether you are a high performance athlete or simply committed to improving your health, UA HealthBox is the only system that delivers the complete picture and provides the information and motivation needed to achieve your goals.”

The UA Band is a wearable that is aimed at tracking your fitness activities. It is capable of tracking your workouts, sleep cycle, steps taken, heart rate, calories burnt and more. All of this data is logged to the UA Record app. On a single charge, the UA Band lasts anywhere between 5 to 7 days, and if you don’t move for 60 minutes, it vibrates gently to remind you to do so.

You can also pair the UA Band with the UA Heart Rate chest strap, which is also capable of syncing its data with the UA Record app. Next in line is the UA Scale, a weighing scale with built-in Wi-Fi. The weighing scale supports up to 8 users and features LEDs that automatically turn off when not in use. Like other products, the UA Scale also syncs with the UA Record app.

Combined, the UA HealthBox will be available for $400, with pre-orders starting today. The bundle will be making its way to online and retail stores on January 22. You can, however, buy the UA Band separately for $180.

Sadly, the offering from HTC and Under Armour don’t really look that impressive. While their design might be one of their high points, none of the devices offer any unique new features that sets it apart from the products that are already available on the market.
