HTC USA has just sent out a tweet with the information all you One fans have been waiting for, the availability of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. If you’re on Sprint, first let me say I feel bad for you, you really should use another network, but second, you’re going to get 4.3 today. If you’re either of the GSM providers, that is AT&T and T-Mobile, then you’ll have to wait until the middle of the month. And if you’re on Verizon, surprise surprise, you’re going to have to wait until the end of October.
So what’s new in Android 4.3 anyway? I’m sad to report that chances are you’re not going to be able to tell it apart from Android 4.2. The update focuses on under the hood improvements, not user facing features. HTC has supposedly improved the camera performance of the One with this update, but rigorous testing will need to be done before anyone can say HTC is all talk or not.

What comes after Android 4.3? Why Android 4.4 of course, codenamed KitKat. No one knows anything about KitKat, other than the name, so please don’t ask me for any specific details. That in turn means there’s no information about when HTC/Samsung/Sony will update their devices to 4.4.
Don’t fret, we’ll know more about 4.4 this month, and then you can begin your long journey of moaning and groaning about not being on the latest version of Android all over again.
