Samsung is going to hold an event in three weeks in London, and I thought they would announce the Galaxy S4 mini there, but I’ve just been proven wrong. Samsung just announced the device right now on their corporate blog.

All the leaks that have been cropping up over the internet these past few weeks appear to be correct: 4.3 inch qHD display, dual core 1.7 GHz processor (hasn’t been confirmed yet it’s a Snapdragon 400), 1.5 GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage with a microSD card slot, 8 megapixel rear facing camera, 1.9 megapixel front facing camera, Android 4.2.2, and the device will come in three variants: 4G LTE, 3G single SIM, 3G dual SIM. I’d like to point out that NFC will only be available in the 4G LTE model.

That’s all there is to say really.

Samsung notes that members of the press will be able to play with this thing at their event next month, so I don’t think you’ll be seeing and hands-on videos for a while.
