Android Wear smartwatches

Google’s Android Wear platform is a way for the search giant to get their mobile platform on the smart wearables that are getting wrapped around wrists. Along with that, the company is not letting a lot of customization get in between the user and the software. That translates to faster updates, as Google has just outlined in a new official Android blog post.

In the post, Google outlines that a pair of updates are on the way for the smart wearables, but that’s only part of the good news. The real news is that all Android Wear-based smartwatches (currently available) are going to receive the updates, without (supposedly) any issue. The first update will include the addition of GPS support that we heard about earlier in September.

Keep in mind that the Android Wear-based smartwatch needs to have the necessary hardware support for GPS. It’s going to receive the update one way or another. The same software update will also include offline music playback. Also in the update? Bluetooth headphone support. The second update is about the custom Android Wear smartwatch faces, something else we’ve heard about in the past.

Did you buy an Android Wear smartwatch yet? If so, which one?
