Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge - the camera, LED flash and heart rate sensor cluster

Up until now, most of the Galaxy S7 leaks have come from insiders and industry sources. While most of these leaks from various sources have corroborated each other, there has been quite a bit of confusion regarding the display size and the camera sensor that Samsung’s next flagship Galaxy will pack.

Now, if an alleged AnTuTu listing of the AT&T variant of the Galaxy S7 edge is to be believed, Samsung’s next flagship will come with a mere 12MP resolution camera. This means that the S7’s camera will actually have a lower resolution camera than its predecessor, which is a scenario usually unheard of in the smartphone industry since most consumers equate the camera performance of a device with its megapixel count.

A decrease in camera resolution does not automatically mean that the Galaxy S7 will shoot inferior pictures than its predecessor, though. The drop in resolution should likely come with an increase in individual pixel size that should greatly benefit the low-light imaging capabilities of the S7.

The AnTuTu listing also shows that the Galaxy S7 edge will come with a 5.1-inch Quad HD display, which does not match up with previous leaks and rumors that claimed the handset would come with a 5.5-inch curved display.

Other specs of the Galaxy S7 edge listed on AnTuTu match up with what we have heard before though: a Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB RAM, 5MP front shooter, 64GB storage space, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
