Samsung’s Galaxy S10 series ships with the company’s new One UI. The new skin is a major step up from Samsung in the usability department and shows that the company really has paid heed to user feedback. Despite all improvements, something as simple as setting a custom ringtone for a specific contact can be a daunting task on the Galaxy S10.

It is ironic that as smartphones have improved over the years, doing basic tasks on them has become increasingly difficult. But that does not mean you cannot set a custom ringtone or notification tone for individual contacts on the Galaxy S10 series. You can by simply following the steps below.

Apart from setting a custom ringtone for individual contacts, I will also show the steps to set a custom ringtone on the devices.

How to Set Custom Ringtone on Samsung Galaxy S10

Step 1: Open Settings -> Sound and vibration -> Ringtone on your Galaxy S10.

Step 2: From the Ringtone picker list, tap the ‘+’ icon located on the top-right corner. This will open the Sound picker app. Select any ringtone/song that you’d like to set as the ringtone on your Galaxy S10.

If you select any song, the Sound picker will be smart enough to automatically select the high tempo part. If you don’t want this, simply toggle off the Highlights only option at the top. Tap Done when you have selected your desired tone as the ringtone.

How to Set Custom Ringtone for Individual Contacts on Samsung Galaxy S10

The process to set a custom ringtone for a contact on your Galaxy S10 is slightly different from setting a custom ringtone.

Step 1: Open the Contacts app and head over to the contact details for whom you want to set a custom ringtone.

Step 2: Tap the Edit button at the bottom to edit the contact details. From there, scroll to the bottom, tap View more and scroll to the very bottom.

Step 3: You should see the Ringtone column. Tap on it and select the ringtone that you’d like to set for that particular contact.

You can even customize the vibration pattern for that contact from here. Once you are done with all the changes, simply save them and exit the Contacts app.

As for custom ringtones, you can simply transfer your favorite tracks to the Galaxy S10 and set them as ringtone or download some apps for thePlay Store which will let you download ringtones.
