At the beginning of this month, the CyanogenMod team released the first M1 build of CM10.2, based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Thanks to all the bug reports from its users, the team has now started rolling out the first Release Candidate of CM10.2.

The first RC build does not pack any new features, and mainly aims at squashing those little bugs that affect day to day usage. If there are no show stopping bugs reported in this RC, the CM team will then release the final Milestone build of CM10.2 for people who want absolute stability.

If you are coming from a stable CM10.1 build, you should be able to flash this RC build without any issues. Previous CM10.2 builds and nightlies also don’t require any data wipe. However, it is always recommended to make backups, just in case things go wrong. Head over to the CyanogenMod download page to download the first RC build for your device.

The CyanogenMod team has also been working on CM11 – based on Android 4.4 KitKat – porting features from previous CM versions and adding new enhancements specific to KitKat. Hopefully, we will should see official CM11 nightlies from the end of this month for some devices.
