OnePlus co-founder and CEO Carl Pei has revealed on Twitter that the company has delayed the release of a stable build of OxygenOS and CM12S for the One until March.
He cites that the reason behind the delay are “proprietary drivers, code, QA, certifications.”
Cyanogen Inc. had promised to roll out the Lollipop based CM12S update for the OnePlus One within 90 days from the roll out by Google. The update had also entered QA stage earlier this month, but it looks like that particular build failed to get all the necessary certifications.

The final build of OxygenOS from OnePlus was also slated to be available by February, but that has been delayed as well.
Sadly, there is not much that OnePlus One owners can do except for hoping that the new builds of CM12S and OxygenOS pass all the QA and get the necessary certifications for a release in March.
If you have already rooted your OnePlus One though, you can always install a Lollipop based custom ROM on the handset since they are all stable enough for daily use.
Update: Carl has clarified in a new tweet that the update won’t land before mid to late March.
