Nearly a month ago, the CyanognenMod team unveiled its plan of launching a CyanongenMod.org account for all their users. The CM account will be a global account, that will work across the CM’s website, JIRA (their bug-tracker) and also allow users to enjoy a new Find and Wipe feature from the CM team.

At the time of announcement, the CM team was still reviewing the code, and decided against merging the code to nightlies instantly. Now, after some testing, refining and without any serious objections from its user base, the CM team has gone ahead and merged the code into CM’s sources. This means that the CyanogenMod account feature will be available in the next nightly for all the supported devices.

The Find and Wipe functionality can be accessed by CyanogenMod users by heading over to account.cyanogenmod.org/login. The CM team will continue to add more features down the line, that will make greater use of the CM account.

You can add a CyanogenMod account, after flashing the latest nightly, by going to Settings -> Add Account -> CyanogenMod. If you are already have the CM account feature integrated into your ROM, you will have to remove the account and add it again for the service to work properly. You can download the latest nightly for your Android device from get.cm.
