The CyanogenMod team, today, announced the release of the first release candidate of CM 10.1.3. The RC is based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, and not Android 4.3. The code base of CM10.1 was frozen back in May, and since then the team has worked hard on adding support for new devices, and fixing bugs.
The first release candidate is a testament to that fact, and does not include any new major feature except for Privacy guard functionality and SELinux (permissive mode). On the device side, the RC adds support for quite a few devices including the HTC One and its various variants, the Galaxy S4 and its variants, and the Note 2 family.
The CM team also states that, in all probability, this is going to be the first and last release candidate on the CM10.1.3 code base, before they release the final version and shelve the code to shift their attention to CM10.2 based on Android 4.3. So, if you come across any major bug, don’t forget to report the issue on JIRA along with a valid log and steps to replicate the problem.
If by any chance, you are already running CM10.2 on your Android device, do not flash this RC version on top of it. You will need to do a clean install. If you are running CM10.1 based nightlies though, you can safely flash the RC on top of it. You can download the RC1 of your supported Android device from get.cm.
