Chrome for Android updated with improved text rendering, bug fixes

Chrome for Android is perhaps the best browser available for Android devices, especially because of the fact that it can sync with Chrome on other devices as long as a user is signed in with a common Google account. Today, Google is attempting to make Chrome better with an update to version 36, which has been in the beta stage for a few weeks.

Chrome 36 brings improved text rendering for websites not optimized for mobile – a welcome improvement, given how non-mobile-optimized sites can sometimes render quite poorly, though features like true text reflow are still missing. That’s pretty much the only interesting feature in the update, but it is accompanied by the usual slew of unexplained bug fixes and performance improvements.

The update can be downloaded from the Play Store, though you might have to wait for a few days before it becomes available for your device, given the staged rollout approach Google loves to apply to all its app updates.
