The Anker name has slowly become synonymous with inexpensive smartphone accessories, more specifically battery packs cables.
rsonally, I’ve owned a few over the years have had no complaints. They’re typically well designed, sturdy, perform the assigned task.
For the most port, the werCore+ 26800mAh pack lives up to my prior experiences with the Anker br.
The top of the device has a power button with 10 lights, each one accounting for 10 percent of the battery’s charge. ess the button, notice 4 lights are lit up you instantly know the battery has 40 percent charge left.
en charging, the lights operate in the reverse; blinking until the next 10% threshold is met, turning solid, then going to the next light until the battery is full.
The werCore+ stopped discharging at 82.45, or 85 percent of its capacity, putting it fifth among the eight packs we tested in this batch.
Charging the pack took 11 hours, using the designated input microB port that accepts 5V/2A (rtaw measured a consistent 5V/1.76A input).
Three B-A ports adorn the front of the pack. Two ports offer stard B outputs of 5V/3A, with a third Quick Charge 2.0 port.
For $80, you get the battery pack a QC 3.0 wall adapter in the box. so included is a microB cable a carrying case.
Unfortunately, a dedicated B-C port is no where to be found on this particular werCore+ model. en I requested a review sample, I was told the company has a B-C (with wer Deliver) model coming soon but it wasn’t ready in time. wer Delivery will enable faster charging through B-C to B-C connections.
However, there is already a werCore+ model with a B-C port on it, albeit a lower capacity lacking QC 2.0: The werCore+ 20100, it’s $10 cheaper than the 26800 reviewed here. But you’ll need to ask yourself if giving up QC 2.0 is worth the B-C port.
