Android device updates: Verizon V10, Sprint Galaxy Note 4, 5, S6 ge+ jump to Marshmallow

ones new old are getting their turn aboard the Marshmallow train this week. The wait was relatively short for ’s V10, while some older Samsung phones are finally in the game. A ton of security stability fixes are also on the way, a sign that ’s effort to push regular security patches is gaining traction.

Each week, we compile all the major software updates to hit the Android ecosystem, including phones tablets on U.S. carriers, unlocked phones, Android ar smartwatches, Android TV devices. Making sure your device is running the latest available software is a good housekeeping practice, ensuring you have the latest features with fewer bugs gaping security holes.

Verizon

V10: The Marshmallow update is coming your way, which will be welcome news for sure. It brings all the goodness of Android 6.0, along with better connectivity to Big Red’s network. 

G3: The Verizon model of this older (in smartphone years, anyway) device is getting the h security update, so you should be safe from the latest malware threats. Verizon notes you’ll also see the phone awaken faster from a sleep slate.

G4: Same story here, with the latest security patches the same improvement to waking from a sleep mode.

Galaxy S7: Verizon is sending out a small maintenance patch to the newest Galaxy flagship. It’s slated to improve -fi connectivity some issues with loading webpages. 

Galaxy S7 ge: That maintenance update is also hitting the bigger curvier new Galaxy phone, so look for it in an over-the-air update. It’s set to address some issues with -Fi network connectivity as well.

Sprint

Galaxy Note 4: The wait was long, but Marshmallow is finally here if you’re using the Sprint-bred Note 4. ok for an over-the-air update to hit your phone soon.

Galaxy Note 5: The Note 5 was a pretty fantastic device, if all goes well this Marshmallow update will improve your phone with Doze all the other new features of Android 6.0.

Galaxy S6 ge+: If you have this big, curved-edge phone then you’re also set for your taste of Marshmallow. Sprint says the update should also bring you up to date with the latest security patches.
