Outlook for Android is getting more people-friendly with some tweaks to the contacts section in a version 1.1 update.

The email app (finally) syncs up with your phone's address book and displays additional details about each person. You can now touch a contact to email or start a phone call with them.

If you rotate your phone or tablet, the calendar now transforms into a three-day view, which is handy if you have a lot of items jam-packed into your schedule.

The update also includes the obligatory bug fixes and performance improvements, promising a faster experience. The update is there for the taking in the Google Play Store.

The story behind the story: Outlook for Android is still in preview, so expect a lot of more fixes and adjustments going forward.  It's a key piece of Microsoft's new mobile-first strategy, which also includes a full-blown Office for Android suite with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
