Motorola to introduce another hset, it looks like it’s all about emerging markets

ile Samsung HTC’s flagship devices have been dueling it out for the top smartphone spot, Motorola is apparently continuing to focus its efforts on emerging markets. Its next order of business could be unveiling the Moto E, a successor to the low-end Moto G.

On dnesday, the company sent out invitations for an event on May 13. The official invite, sent out only to select journalists with a specific UK presence, states that the event will introduce a new product that will “connect more people to the world’s information each other.” Obviously, a low-end device fits perfectly into the messaging of the invite. 

It’s possible that the product being teased will be the Moto E, another low- to mid-range device. Rumors speculate that it will feature a 4.3-inch 720p display, 1GB of RAM, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a 5Mcamera, 4GB of internal storage, a 1900mAh battery pack. It might also have dual-SIM capabilities, which would benefit users in emerging market. And it’s expected to cost less than the Moto G.

It’s doubtful that the Moto E—or whatever emerging market device is announced—would make it to the . Regardless, it’s an interesting plot point in Motorola’s journey. haven’t heard much about the company since novo’s acquisition, save that it plans to launch a wearable sometime this year. rhaps carving out territory on the low end is Motorola’s game plan for staying relevant.
