Android Marshmallow

Google is hard at work on making Android 6.0 Marshmallow functional for the public, but there’s still some time to go before the company even announces new Nexus-branded smartphones.

So when can Android users expect to see Android 6.0 launch? While Google hasn’t made anything official just yet, according to an updated software release schedule from the second-largest carrier in Canada, Telus, those users should circle Monday, October 5 on their calendars. Based on the information reported by Mobile Syrup, that’s the day that Google will begin the rollout of its newest mobile OS.

According to the report, that new software will be making its way to the Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 on that date. A week prior to that, on September 29, Google is hosting an event where it’s expected they’ll announce the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, which will launch at some point after that with Android 6.0 already installed.

Telus is quick to note that this date could change at any point, but at least there’s a date to consider now.
