ara-what? Acer’s ‘Selfie-Hat’ slaps a tablet on a sombrero, adds glitter

Acer is busting out the glitter for its latest wearable, a giant pink sombrero dubbed the “Selfie-Hat.”

The oversized hat, which has an Acer Iconia A1-840 tablet dangling from the side, is apparently not a joke. According to cket-nt, Acer designed this sparkly abomination in conjunction with fashion designer tian Cowan-Sanluis, they’re showing it off together at ndon Fashion ek.

You can even buy one yourself, but only by appointment at the fashion show.

at’s the point? “ilst slowly moving the screen from left to right, not only does the selfie sombrero help the user finding their best angle, but also how to underst lighting, how various expressions can change your face ultimately create the perfect social media moment,” Acer says. Yes, there’s finally a device to help you underst how facial expressions work.

You’ve got to admire Acer’s audacity here. The wearable market has become crowded with similar-looking smartwatches fitness bs, it’s hard to come up with something that people will really notice. A sparkly pink tablet sombrero is basically the nuclear option.

If that’s too much for you, Acer is also offering a mini case version—in essence, a tablet wearing its own little pink sombrero. st try not to insult it to its face; tablets are sensitive like that.
