Xposed Framework

Eagerly waiting for Xposed framework for Marshmallow? Well here is some good news for you then. The developer of the framework, rovo89, has provided an update about the status of the framework for Android 6.0 in which he says that the first beta can be released later this week.

Compared to Lollipop, the underlying changes in runtime on Marshmallow are minimal so its not surprising that rovo89 got the framework to work pretty quickly on Marshmallow and with relatively less effort.

Meanwhile, most things are working fine. My Nexus 9 is booting and running with Xposed enabled. I have fixed the root cause of a couple of crashes which unfortunately needed much time for analysis (with the outcome that three additional lines fix it). There are a few more things I need to test, but I think you can expect a first version later this week. It should be stable enough for daily use, even though not all modules will work out of the box due to the usual amount of changes in AOSP.

It is always possible that due to some last minute bugs, the developer delays the release of the framework by a few days, so don’t keep your expectations in check.

Xposed framework when combined with hundreds of its modules, is easily able to bring most of the features from custom ROMs to any device running stock ROM. Thus, its no wonder that many advance users are eagerly waiting for a Marshmallow-compatible release of the framework.
