Twitter is testing a dedicated GIF button in its Android app for some users

Finding a way to send a GIF to someone, or through social networks, isn’t all that hard right now, but apparently Twitter wants to make it even easier to spread the moving pictures.

According to several different Twitter for Android users, the social network is currently testing out a dedicated GIF button in the mobile app. As it stands right now, the presence of the button has only been found within the official Twitter app for Android, but it’s possible it will rollout to other mobile apps in the future.

According to TechCrunch, who spoke with Twitter user Phil Pearlman, the dedicated button will let users navigate through popular GIFs found in a “Trending” tab, or even select a mood they’re in to pick a GIF based on that. Interestingly enough, for many users that saw the dedicated button show up unexpectedly, it disappeared just as suddenly — including Pearlman’s own dedicated button.
