According to Google+, Shahriar Hossain is a Samsung employee. And according to the Dutch website TechTastic, he posted a photo to Google+ using a device known as the SM-C101, which is better known as the Galaxy S4 Zoom. The photo has already been taken down, but don’t worry, you’re not missing much. It’s of a white building on a clear day.

For those who don’t know what the GS4 Zoom is, here’s the best way to think about it: Take the GS4, give it a smaller screen, downgrade the processor, and with the money saved bump up the camera to 16 megapixels and also throw in a 10x optical zoom lens.

When will this technical marvel be officially announced? Depending on you believe, it’ll be live by the end of the first half of 2013. I’m not even going to pretend to know how much it costs, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see it being marketed as a premium device.

Will the GS4 Zoom be a proper sequel to the Galaxy Camera (pictured above), or will Samsung announce a separate device later this year that’s even crazier than the GS4 Zoom? Again, I’m just speculating here. I doubt Galaxy Camera owners like lugging that thing around town, so this (hopefully) smaller device will be a much welcome upgrade.
