The Galaxy S6 is yet to go on sale, but it has already been rooted by Chainfire. The developer is known for gaining root access on popular Android devices before they even ship and the Galaxy S6 is no different.

As always, being the first root method to be available for the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge, there are certain conditions that need to be met. The CF-Auto-Root for the Galaxy S6 is going to work on variants that ship with an unlocked bootloader. It is also more than likely that the KNOX switch will be tripped during this root process, which means that certain Samsung’s enterprise related features and Samsung Pay might not work.

Right now, Chainfire has only made CF-Auto-Root available for the T-Mobile variant of the Galaxy S6 (SM-G920T) and S6 Edge (SM-G925T).

Keep in mind though that since the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are yet to start shipping, it is possible that Samsung might make some firmware modifications that make CF-Auto-Root redundant on its shipping firmware.
