Oppo today announced a new addition to its Neo line-up: the Neo 7. The budget oriented handset comes with a 5-inch display that features a measly qHD (960 x 540) resolution.

Under the hood, a quad-core Snapdragon 410 chipset clocked at 1.2GHz and 1GB RAM powers the handset. There is also 16GB of onboard storage space, a 2,420mAh sealed battery, and a microSD card slot on the 7.55 mm thin phone. Other notable specs of the Neo 7 include an 8MP rear shooter with an F/2.0 aperture, a 5MP front camera, LTE, and dual-SIM connectivity.

The highlight of the Neo 7, however, is its design. The handset features a unique back that is made from individual cut-glass and has different reflective properties under different lighting conditions.

On the software front, the Neo 7 runs on ColorOS 2.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Some of the features present in this version of ColorOS include Lockscreen Magazine, Beautify 3.0, and Screen Flash, which is similar to Retina Flash found on the new iPhones.

Oppo did not provide any other details about the release date and pricing of the Neo 7, but it is likely that the company only plans on releasing the handset in China, India, and other Asian markets.
