Oppo today announced its plans to launch a new lineup of mid-range smartphones under its new F series that will focus on delivering great camera performance. The company’s press release says that the F series of smartphones will be among its core products in 2016.

Oppo says that the overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding the camera performance of its devices led to the company to create its new F series of smartphones. Beside the camera, smartphones launched under the F series will also feature “exquisite” designs for which Oppo flagship devices are known for.

According to Mr. Sky Li, OPPO Vice President and Managing Director of International Mobile Business, the F series will inherit the excellent camera performance and exquisite design tradition that have earned accolades for OPPO’s flagship series. The series will bring devices with impressive specs, eye-catching style and amazing prices that will have consumers doing double takes on the excellent specs and build quality.

The F1 will be among the first phone in the F series that Oppo will be unveiling, though details and specifics about it remain unknown for now. It is also unclear if Oppo plans on unveiling the F1 at CES itself or sometime later this month.

It will be interesting to see if Oppo’s F series of smartphones are able to offer better camera performance than other mid-range smartphones from LG and Samsung or not.
