OnePlus 7 Pro App Locker

OxygenOS in OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro comes with plenty of useful additions despite retaining a look that’s very similar to stock Android. Among other things, it also packs native app locking feature which means one can lock apps on their OnePlus 7/Pro without having to download any third-party app from Google Play. If you are new to OxygenOS and are wondering how to lock apps on your OnePlus 7 Pro, follow the steps below.

The native app locking feature in OxygenOS on the OnePlus 7 Pro has been implemented in a very easy and straightforward manner but it has its own set of limitations as well.

Firstly, the unlock pattern/password of locked apps will be the same as your phone’s unlock pattern. Secondly, App Locker does not support the fingerprint scanner or face unlock meaning you cannot use any form of biometric authentication to quickly unlock locked apps. This means that apart from passcode/pattern unlock, one cannot use face unlock to quickly unlock locked apps on their OnePlus 7 Pro.

How to Lock Apps on OnePlus 7 Pro

Before setting up App Lock on your OnePlus 7/Pro, make sure to set up a lock screen passcode/password. This is important as without this you won’t be able to set up App Lock.

Step 1: Go to Settings -> Utilities -> App Locker. You will have to confirm your device unlock password/pattern to enter into App Locker.

Step 2: Tap the Add apps option and select the apps you would like to lock.

That’s about it! The selected apps will be locked and to access them, you will have to enter the unlock pattern/password of your device. For additional security and privacy, you can hide notification contents from all locked apps on your OnePlus 7/Pro.
