The NVIDIA SHIELD tablet is a pretty new device, but thanks to the company behind it, the tablet receives timely updates to the newest version of Android. That trend continues with Android 5.0 Lollipop.

On Tuesday, November 4, NVIDIA confirmed that the SHIELD tablet will be getting upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop in November, which is an update to their previous confirmation that the newest software was coming in general. The update will be quick because NVIDIA seems to be keeping everything stock, which means owners of the SHIELD tablet will get to experience the Material Design aesthetic without any proprietary software getting in the way. That isn’t to say that NVIDIA won’t make some changes to specific apps, though, as they will be making alterations to the user interface within the SHIELD Hub app and the Dabbler app.

While no specific date has been provided, it is good to hear that NVIDIA is working so hard to get the newest version of Android on their flagship tablet. If you want to see what Lollipop looks like on the SHIELD, check out the video below.
