Q) Is the battery of the handset removable?

A) No. Similar to the Moto G5 Plus, the rear cover and battery of the Moto G5s Plus is not removable.

Q) What kind of SIM card slot does the phone have? Can I use two SIM cards and a microSD card at the same time?

A) The Moto G5s Plus features a dual-SIM card slot and a microSD card slot. This means that you can use 2 SIM cards and a microSD card on the phone at the same time.

Q) Is the display on the Moto G5s Plus protected by Gorilla Glass?

A) The 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display on the Moto G5s Plus is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3.

Q) How many fingerprints can one register on the Moto G5s Plus?

A) 5. The home button is capacitive in nature and can be used to wake up and unlock the device when its display is off.

Q) Can you lock apps using the fingerprint scanner on the Moto G5s Plus?

Q) Does the Moto G5s Plus feature an IR blaster?

A) No, the Moto G5s Plus does not feature an IR blaster.

Q) Does the Moto G5s Plus feature native video calling support?

A) No, it does not. You will have to install a third-party app like Google Duo to be able to make video calls on the Moto G5s Plus.

Q) Is the Moto G5s Plus waterproof?

A) The Moto G5s Plus features a nano coating that repels water, but it is not water-resistant or waterproof.

Q) How many different variants of the Moto G5s Plus does Moto sell in India?

A) Unlike the Moto G5 Plus which was available in two variants, Motorola is only selling one variant of the Moto G5s Plus in India with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM. The handset is priced at Rs 15,999.

A) Yes, it does.

Q) What are the key areas where the Moto G5s Plus has improved over the Moto G5 Plus?

A) The Moto G5s Plus has a better build quality than the Moto G5 Plus. The phone features a unibody metal build which gives it a very solid and premium feel. While the Moto G5 Plus also features a metal design, it does not feel as premium as the G5s Plus. The G5s Plus also comes with a slightly bigger 5.5-inch 1080p display compared to the 5.2-inch panel found on the Moto G5 Plus.

Finally, the biggest difference between the two handsets is in their camera setup. The Moto G5 Plus features a single 12MP f/2.0 shooter at its rear while the Moto G5s Plus features dual 13MP f/2.0 shooter at its rear. The secondary shooter allows the Moto G5s Plus to offer Portrait mode similar to the iPhone 7 Plus and Galaxy Note 8.

Q) What is the One Button Nav feature on the Moto G5s Plus?

A) The One Button Nav feature makes use of the fingerprint sensor as a virtual navigation bar and hides the on-screen button to free up real screen estate. Once enabled, you need to swipe left to go back while a right swipe will bring up the Recent Apps list.  As for the one-handed mode, it can be activated by swiping up on the home button. It shrinks the UI of the G5 Plus down to make it easily usable with one hand.

Q) Can you record slow-motion videos on the Moto G5s Plus?

A) Yes, it can but only at 720p @ 120fps. It can also record videos in 4K resolution at 30fps.

Q) Which version of Android does the Moto G5s Plus run on? 

A) The handset runs on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box with the June security patch.

Q) Does the Moto G5s Plus support LTE and VoLTe networks? Will a Reliance Jio SIM work on the phone?
