Rumors and leaks surrounding HTC’s upcoming flagship phone, the One M10, have sadly been…non-existent. Apart from one leak which suggested that the handset will be launched in March and will be available in both Snapdragon 820 and MediaTek powered variants, not much is known about the handset.

Thanks to Evan Blass (a.k.a @evleaks) though, we now have more details about HTC’s upcoming flagship. His source confirms that the M10 is being internally called as the Perfume and that it will feature a 5.1-inch Quad HD display that is supposedly an AMOLED panel.

Inside, the M10 will sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset, an Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB RAM and 32GB of storage space. There will also be a microSD card slot and a fingerprint scanner integrated into the home button of the handset. Out of the box, the M10 will run on Android 6.0.1 with Sense 8.0 on top of it.

When it comes to camera, the source says that HTC has used a 12MP ‘UltraPixel’ sensor on the rear o the M10 that is assisted by a laser-assisted autofocus sensor. Additionally, the sensor will also feature OIS that — at least on paper — sounds very promising. While the resolution of the front camera is not yet known, it will also feature an ‘UltraPixel’ sensor with OIS.

Notably, the source says that HTC has ditched its trademarked front-facing BoomSound stereo speakers with the M10. It is unclear where HTC has positioned the speakers now, though considering that BoomSound speakers used to occupy a lot of bezel space, I am glad HTC decided to ditch them.

Lastly, the source reconfirmed what we have heard previously: HTC will not be showing the M10 at MWC next month. Instead, the company plans on unveiling the handset to the public at a separate event in March.

After the disappointing One M9 last year, HTC seems to be going all out this time with the M10. While some people will be disappointed with the M10 ditching the company’s iconic BoomSound stereo speakers, I am sure others will appreciate the reduction in bezel space that it will bring.
