A new report by CompareMyMobile has revealed that over 46.18% of the customers who upgraded to the new HTC One (M8) were coming from an older HTC device. This tells us a lot about brand loyalty and the trust that people have over the company’s products despite its dismal showing in the market lately.

Interestingly, over 23.74% of customers who switched to the new HTC flagship were iPhone users, which tells us that even people from the iOS camp are pretty pleased with HTC’s newest handset. The data also reveals that 21.29% of users who upgraded to the One M8 were trading in a Samsung device.

While this doesn’t necessarily show the actual sales figure of the smartphone, it’s certainly a good indicator that people are quite impressed by HTC’s latest offering. In terms of marketshare, Samsung and Apple still hold the crown with 40.44% and 26.16% respectively, while HTC is lagging behind with 10.02%.

It is said that HTC One trade-ins increased by 129 percent since the launch of the M8 last month while HTC devices on the whole saw an increase of 20.87%.
