Ahead of its unveiling tomorrow, HTC’s next flagship — the HTC 11 — has leaked in a hands-on video that shows the various features of the phone, including the squeeze frame feature.

The video shows how the sensors embedded into the edges of the HTC 11 can be squeezed to quickly take a selfie, launch an app, and more. The action done by the squeeze sensors will work depending on the amount of force applied.

In terms of design, the HTC 11 looks very similar to the HTC U Ultra and features the same liquid surface rear. This also means that the front of the phone has hefty top and bottom bezels — something that other flagships are abandoning this year. The video also shows the bunch of colors that the HTC 11 will be available in, including blue, red, white, and black.

As for specs, the HTC 11 will sport a Snapdragon 835 chipset, 6GB RAM, BoomSound speaker setup similar to one found on the U Ultra, and a 12MP UltraPixel shooter at the rear. The phone will also be water-resistant, though it will lack a 3.5mm jack which is going to be a bummer for many.

A lot depends on the HTC 11 for the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer. While other OEMs are this year focusing on removing bezels from their handsets, HTC seems just fine on keeping the hefty chin on its phones intact. However, its squeeze frame approach is definitely interesting, though its usefulness in real life remains to be seen.
