Grammy Awards

In less than 24 hours from now, the 57th annual Grammy Awards will be held at Staples center in Los Angeles. Being a weekend, chances are you will be able to enjoy the awards from the comfort of your home. However, in case you will not be in front of a TV, but are interested in watching the Grammy’s, you can do so right from your Android smartphone or tablet. Read on to find out how.

The only official way to view the Grammy’s Awards on Android, or for that matter iOS, is through the CBS app — which is only available to residents in the United States. Being the official broadcaster of the Grammy Awards this year, CBS has banned the live streaming of the show to YouTube or other sources.

CBS All Access

Besides the app, you will also need a subscription to CBS All Access, which is available in only 14 cities in the United States:

  • New York
  • Los Angeles
  • Dallas
  • Philadelphia
  • San Francisco
  • Boston
  • Minneapolis
  • Miami
  • Denver
  • Baltimore
  • Chicago
  • Pittsburgh
  • Sacramento
  • Detroit

A subscription to CBS All Access will cost you $6 per month, but will also offer you access to next day TV shows, live TV, on-demand and more. If you are not interested in paying 6$ a month just to watch the Grammy Awards, you can make use of the one-week trial offered by CBS to its All Access subscription service. Just make sure to cancel the subscription once you are done watching the Awards show. The Grammy Awards and the live stream are scheduled to start at 8p.m. ET/PT and will last until 11:30p.m.

If you live outside the US or the CBS app is unavailable in your area, you can download the official Grammy’s app on your Android device that will have a live stream of the Premiere Awards Ceremony, Red Carpet interviews, behind the scenes and more. The app will also bring you the latest news, photos and other content right from the awards show floor, and act as a 2nd screen experience to the live broadcast.
