File this one under the funny category. Goophone, China’s leading knock-off mobile phone manufacturer already has a clone of the HTC M8 — ie the All New HTC One — in stock. This beats their own record of ripping the Galaxy S5 two days after its announcement, since the HTC One won’t be even made public until the 25th of March.

Given how often the new HTC One has been leaked, this comes as no surprise as the design of the device has been pretty much confirmed by all the reliable sources we know. The Goophone M8 — smart move, going for the phone’s code name! — looks quite similar with the major difference being the presence of a single camera on the back as opposed to the expected dual-camera setup on the HTC One. Unabashedly, the device’s description does quote a dual 13MP camera, but the pics and specs sheet contradict that.

Other specs include a MediaTek MT6592 Octa-core processor, a 5″ 1080p display, 1GB of RAM and dual-SIMs because it’s a Chinese handset after all, 16GB of storage with a microSD slot, a 5MP front-facing camera for those awesome selfies, and a 2800mAh battery. It comes in silver, black and gold colors, similar to what we expect of the official HTC One.

Goophone has the M8 in stock for $229.99 if you’re feeling adventurous because, and I quote, “Goophone has always been forward best smartphone. With new design, this new generation Goophone M8 you have never seen it.”

Oh well, the giggles.
