Early build of Android 4.3 for the HTC One leaks

Being on the latest version of an operating system is generally a good thing. Windows Vista was a perfect example of an exception to that rule, but I digress. The newest version of Android, versions 4.3, has thus far only been seen on Nexus devices. Many of the smartphones we’ll see announced next month at IFA will likely still be on Android 4.2, but that doesn’t mean handset makers aren’t working their tails off to get you the latest build.

Case in point, an early version of the Android 4.3 firmware for the HTC One has leaked and is now circulating around the XDA Forums. The guys at Android Central say it feels smoother than previous versions of HTC’s software, there’s a new task manager in the app switcher, and there’s more customization support with regards to the built-in video editor.

When will HTC make this build final and release it to the world? Your guess is as good as mine. If you’re using an operator variant, you’re going to have to obviously wait even longer compared to people who bought the SIM free international unit.

And it’s also worth noting, again, that this is an early version of the software. There will likely be additional changes, more bug fixes, and who knows what else!
